Coming to NJRC was one of the best decisions I've made. Before seeking real treatment, I tried many different ways to handle things on my own, but NJRC has provided me the support and guidance I had been missing all along. The staff and counselors are both knowledgeable and compassionate, and the environment encourages people to support one another. North Jersey Recovery Center is a great place with a really caring staff. Everyone is welcoming and does their best to make the environment safe and comfortable. You can tell that the staff genuinely cares about the people they work with and wants to see them do well. I’ve seen firsthand how much effort everyone puts in, and it really makes a difference. I WOULD GIVE ZERO STARS IF I COULD. I spent about a year or longer in this program and was very close with the clients that attended at Fair Lawn and Cliffside Park. It hurts me to say that NJRC does not operate legally or humanely when it comes to assuring patient rights and patient discretion when making a decision. In the end, every patient I've ever met while attending NJRC has relapsed, many of which signing themselves out due to not feeling fulfilled by the program. Obviously, these are not going to be the people taking time to sit and write a review for this place. I have also noticed that since leaving the program I have been scouted multiple times by their management - its almost like they know their program isn't helping people stay sober and they set them up for relapse, and then scout them out and bring them back to treatment to make money off of them a second time. NJRC is genuinely one of my favorite places on Earth. I've been to three other treatment centers and none of them compare to NJRC. The group leaders, therapists, supervisors, case managers, clients, and everyone else are amazing. Jeremy and Rachel Kornmann are especially special to me. Jeremy is a supervisor (I think) and Rachel is my therapist. They contribute to making NJRC feel like a safe and comfortable space. Therapists' doors are always open when they aren't in session so that clients can talk to them whenever they need. I know every single therapist at NJRC personally and they are all exceptional. NJRC has helped keep me sober, which is the greatest gift. I thought for the longest time that nothing would help my addiction, but NJRC pulled through. I could not be more grateful.

There are some places you visit in life, and there are some places that change your life. NJRC was the latter for me. When I arrived at NJRC, I had finally reached the point where I knew I had to get my life together. I needed to get off drugs and alcohol, but what I learned there went far beyond getting sober. NJRC taught me something I desperately needed to learn: how to shut the hell up, listen, become humble, and take an honest look at myself. For years, I blamed everything and everyone for the life I was living. I blamed the drugs and alcohol. I blamed the world and the people in it. I blamed poverty, my parents, and the dysfunction I grew up around. But NJRC helped me understand something that changed everything: Those things were circumstances. They were building blocks of my story. But they weren't the real problem. The real problem was me. My healing began when I finally admitted the truth: I was an addict. That admission wasn't a weakness. It was the beginning of my freedom. I learned that recovery wasn't simply about putting down the drugs and alcohol. It was about dealing with the person underneath them—the inner me. The trauma. The setbacks. The pain. The guilt. The shame. The things I had carried for years and tried to numb instead of heal. I also learned that having a Higher Power didn't necessarily mean I had to be religious. It meant understanding that I couldn't do this alone. I needed to become connected to something greater than myself. Most importantly, NJRC helped me realize that I was not broken beyond repair. I could be fixed. I could heal. I could become a better man. Today, I keep my recovery in front of me every single day. Not because I am ashamed of my past, but because I never want to forget where I came from or what it took to get here. I never want to suffer the way I once did. The love, care, compassion, patience, and guidance I received at NJRC played a tremendous part in helping me become the man I am today. I will forever be grateful. To the staff and everyone at NJRC: thank you for seeing something in me when I couldn't see it in myself. Thank you for helping me understand that recovery isn't just about changing what I do—it's about changing who I am from the inside out. NJRC didn't just help me get clean and sober. NJRC was life changing for me. The dedicated staff and caring compassionate therapists really truly care about your well being. You are not just a dollar sign! I have had the best experience at NJRC in Fairlawn. The staff is so welcoming, I’ve made so many friends, and I genuinely look forward to going. I’ve never once felt uncomfortable or like I didn’t fit in. Before coming, I thought no one would understand me or what i was going through. That was far from the truth! After coming from a place I thought I was genuinely stuck in, to now being genuinely happy and more aware, I give all the credit to NJRC! I can't say enough good things about NJRC. Having had experience with different treatment programs over the years, NJRC genuinely stands out. What impressed me most is how individualized the care is. Clients are treated based on their own circumstances and needs, and not like just another statistic going through a program. The therapists, psychiatric staff, facilitators, case managers, techs, and operations staff are all professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in helping people succeed. You can tell there's a real effort across the board to understand each person's situation and give them the support they actually need. The various programs themselves are thoughtfully designed as well. You're exposed to practical tools, knowledge, and resources that help you better understand yourself, address the issues behind substance use, and ultimately make lasting changes. If you or a loved one are looking for help and aren't sure where to go, this is definitely a place I'd recommend.
